A hot air balloon-themed quilt made from the Rise quilt pattern by Woodberry Way in front off the hot air balloons at the Freedom Festival in Provo, Utah

I finally finished my oldest WIP juuuuuuuust in the nick of time (thanks to Hobble Creek Quilting!) to get a picture of it with the hot air balloons at the Freedom Festival yesterday.

The pattern is meant to have prairie points around the inner border, but I decided to make a scrappy stop border instead since that is more my style anyway. Plus it was really fun to dive into my scraps and fussy cut some favorite old fabrics!

The pattern is called Rise by Woodberry Way and Debbie (Hobble Creek Quilting) did a great job quilting it with the cloud pattern. For the backing fabric, I used the aqua starry print from Zippyboro’s Neverland fabric line and couldn’t resist using the silver metallic Netorious Cotton + Steel basic for the binding. I love how this quilt turned out and am pretty happy that my little girls are excited it’s going to be hanging on the wall in their bedroom!
